Our Roots
The story of Domaine Steinbach begins in Belgium, where are from Claire and Philippe Steinbach. At the age of 40, they decide to sell everything and take a gap year in Quebec. This adventure lasted much longer and gave birth to an agrotourism business in a bucolic place: Domaine Steinbach.
Since 2019, Andrée-Anne Poulin and Jimmy Whittom, the new owners, have taken the reins of this splendid orchard. Both with an entrepreneurial spirit, this couple in their thirties is realizing their dream of having their own business. It is with passion and enthusiasm that they wish to develop this well-established business.
MODERNIZING THE ORCHARD
Natural agriculture, a desire of the Steinbach family, is still at the heart of the company's values. The orchard, which counts 3,000 apple trees spread over 5 hectares, is being revived. For the coming year, new plantings are planned, and the crops are becoming 100% organic. A beautiful variety of Spartan, Empire, Vista Bella, Jersey Mac, Lobo, Cortland and McIntosh apples is currently available.
CREATING LASTING MEMORIES
The list of new projects to be carried out is impressive: developing new ciders and doubling production, reviewing the image of the products, developing winter and family tourism and becoming a berry producer. Andrée-Anne and Jimmy still have many ideas to make their 15-hectare domain flourish.
Above all, they want to introduce ciders and apples in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. Several activities are offered to visitors: cider bar, picnic lunch and tasting. The four-bedroom B&B, located in an 18th-century heritage house, also offers getaway packages. Something to create memorable memories!
